It would seem that way, it started years ago as I am not a fan of “chewing on the mic” all (most?) of the time harsh vocals and at the time the lets put an opera singer in front of our metal band trend was starting. Early Kamelot introduced me to After Forever and Epica so yeah. On a related note I can’t get into Jinje r or Arch Enemy at all.
